The Bailout Deal:What is it?

Another good perspective on the deal. It also gives John McCain credit for working with the House Republicans. Click on the title above and read the comment posted for September 28.

  1. Boehner was just on Fox and said passage of the bailout bill is in serious doubt.

Pelosi is on the floor of the House asking for bipartisanship so the markets will have confidence but then proceeded to incorrectly lay this at the feet of Democrats, despite the fact that the historical record shows that Democrats blocked reform over a dozen times.

If our Republicans don't stand up and correctly identify the problem - Democrats forcing banks under penalty of law to make loans to people the banks knew couldn't afford them - then I really don't see how we can fix the problem.

Democrats have the majority and the votes to pass the bill without Republican support. Let's see if they have the courage of their convictions to pass this legislation.

  2. The bill failed.

Democrats, who have the majority, didn't have the courage of their convictions to vote for the bill.

Republicans have hated it since the start.
